Shakespeare & Faulkner: Selves and Others by Karl Zender

Karl Zender joined the UC Davis English department in 1973, as a lecturer in charge of the Subject A Program, transitioning shortly thereafter to the professoriate. Among other duties, he has served as chair of the department and of the University Writing Program. He taught for a term as a Gastprofessor at the University of Vienna and has taught and supervised UC students enrolled in programs in London and in Washington, D.C. He retired from teaching in 2008, after which he worked for several years in the Office of the Dean of Humanities, primarily on personnel matters.

Shakespeare and Faulkner: Selves and Others is his fourth scholarly monograph. Of the prior three, two are on Willian Faulkner’s fiction, the other on Shakespeare’s plays.

Please join the Retiree Center and Professor Zender as he takes us on an exciting hour of literature.
