Welcome from Charles A. Lacy

2007-2008 Chair

UC Davis Retiree Center Advisory Committee

Welcome to the UC Davis Retiree Center web site. As the current chair of the Center’s Advisory Committee, I encourage you to take full advantage of the Center’s services and activities. While the Center has two dedicated employees, the ultimate success of the Center depends on you who are retired when you take full advantage of service, activities and opportunities to volunteer. The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to connect retirees to the Center’s staff as a voice for you. We can do that more effectively if we hear from you. Please let us know your thoughts on how the Center can function most effectively. Ideally, there should be strong mutuality that operates through the Center. You should obtain the on-going information you need to take full advantage of your retirement benefits as well as enjoy enriching activities. UC Davis should have access to the wealth of knowledge and experiences that all of you have and could share.

How can you have your voice heard at the Retiree Center? The UC Davis Emeriti Association and the UC Davis Retirees’ Association have representatives on the Advisory Committee. Please get in touch with one or both of those associations. There is a member of the Advisory Committee who is not a member of either Association, if you prefer voicing your thoughts to a non-affiliated person. There are also representatives from the Provost Office, the administrative home for the Center, and from Human Resources, which provided long-term support for the formation of the Center. Plus the staff members are very amiable if you wish to take your thoughts directly to either of them.

We all look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at the UC Davis Retiree Center events or as a volunteer in the Center’s office, at an event, or on a UC Davis project. Be involved and be enriched.
